Counseling

Dr. Lynda provides compassionate, culturally responsive, evidence-based counseling to individuals and couples experiencing mental health concerns, substance use challenges, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. Faith-based counseling is also available upon request. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can work toward healing, growth, recovery, and lasting change.

Mental Health Counseling:

Mental health counseling provides a supportive space to address emotional, behavioral, and psychological concerns that may be affecting everyday life. Together, we identify challenges, build healthy coping skills, strengthen emotional wellness, and develop practical strategies for positive change.

Substance Abuse Counseling:

Substance abuse counseling supports individuals who are struggling with alcohol or drug use and those working toward recovery. Services focus on understanding patterns of substance use, identifying triggers, strengthening coping and recovery skills, reducing the risk of relapse, and developing healthier ways of living.

Individual Counseling:

Individual counseling offers one-on-one support tailored to your personal needs, experiences, and treatment goals. Sessions may address anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, relationships, substance use, self-esteem, or other concerns affecting your emotional well-being.

Couples Counseling:

Couples counseling helps partners improve communication, address conflict, rebuild trust, strengthen emotional connection, and develop healthier relationship patterns. Counseling provides a supportive environment where both partners can be heard while working toward shared goals.

Faith-Based Counseling:

For clients who desire it, faith and spirituality can be incorporated into the therapeutic process. Faith-based counseling combines professional clinical care with the client’s spiritual beliefs and values to support emotional healing, personal growth, hope, and resilience.

Anxiety:

Counseling for anxiety helps clients understand worry, fear, nervousness, and other symptoms that may interfere with everyday life. Treatment focuses on recognizing triggers, developing coping strategies, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, and increasing a sense of calm and emotional control.

Depression:

Depression counseling provides support for individuals experiencing persistent sadness, low motivation, hopelessness, isolation, or loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed. Treatment focuses on improving mood, strengthening coping skills, addressing negative thought patterns, and helping clients reconnect with meaning and hope.

Trauma:

Trauma-informed counseling provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals affected by painful, frightening, or overwhelming experiences. Treatment focuses on understanding trauma responses, developing healthy coping strategies, restoring a sense of safety, and supporting healing at a pace appropriate for each client.

Stress Management:

Stress management counseling helps clients identify sources of stress and develop healthier ways to respond to life’s demands. Clients learn practical coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, healthy boundaries, and self-care practices that can improve overall well-being.

Grief & Loss:

Grief counseling provides compassionate support following the death of a loved one or other significant losses. Counseling helps individuals process difficult emotions, adjust to life changes, honor what has been lost, and gradually move forward while recognizing that grief is a personal journey.

Life Transitions:

Major changes including retirement, caregiving, relationship changes, aging and career transitions, loss, family and family changes.  Entering a new stage of life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Counseling provides support while clients adjust, identify strengths, develop new coping strategies, and move forward with greater confidence.

Recovery Support:

Recovery is an ongoing process that involves more than simply stopping substance use. Counseling provides continued emotional and behavioral support to help individuals strengthen recovery skills, identify triggers, build healthy relationships and routines, and maintain progress toward long-term wellness.

Relapse Prevention:

Relapse prevention counseling helps individuals recognize personal warning signs, triggers, high-risk situations, and behaviors that could threaten recovery. Together, we develop practical coping strategies and an individualized prevention plan designed to support continued sobriety and long-term recovery.

With counseling you do not have to go through it alone. We provide Compassionate Care, Professional Excellence and Faith-Based Support for Lasting Change.

Help. Healing. Hope. Healing Is Better Together.
